Oct 10th, 2014 Have A Simple Check-Up For Infection Detection Get in touch

4547064_blogDental check-ups may not be the most exciting events in the calendar, but they can make a massive difference to your oral and general health. A simple check-up could save you pain and suffering caused by dental infection, as well as a lot of money, as routine appointments are much cheaper than treatment for complex dental issues. If you’re due a check-up or you’ve been putting off going to the dentist, our friendly dentists are ready and waiting to help; call us today to make your appointment and boost your chances of beautiful healthy teeth.

The importance of check-ups

Check-ups last only a few minutes and there is no pain involved (we promise!), but they really can make the difference when it comes to your teeth and gums. During a check-up, your Aqua Dental dentist will examine your mouth thoroughly, checking your teeth, gums and tongue for any potential signs of damage or infection and noting any changes down in your records. Your dentist will also ask if you have had any pain or any other dental symptoms and they will be happy to answer any questions you have. If you do need treatment of some sort, your dentist will explain what the problem is and how they will address it; we can then arrange a follow-up appointment at a time that is convenient to you.

We recommend 6 monthly check-ups for patients of all ages. Regular appointments allow us to monitor your oral health and detect any problems at an early stage. If you do have symptoms, such as pain or bleeding gums, between check-ups, please do not hesitate to call and arrange an appointment sooner; it’s best to get things checked out as soon as possible to save you from pain and prevent the problem from getting worse. Signs of dental infection include tooth pain, which may be severe, sensitivity, weakness in and around the tooth and generally feeling unwell; if you have an abscess, you may also experience a high temperature, swelling, tenderness and throbbing pain.
