We use a range of techniques to create a calm and relaxing environment, and we are also able to offer treatment under sedation. If you’re a nervous patient, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are here to help, and hopefully, we can help you to overcome dental anxiety for good.

How we can help you to feel relaxed

We have been treating nervous patients for many years, and our priority is to make every patient feel comfortable. We are happy to meet patients in advance of their appointment, show them around, and answer any questions they have. We are also able to put music on to help patients relax, and we have virtual goggles, which enable our clients to watch films. We also offer aromatherapy, and our team is incredibly caring and compassionate.

For patients who are very anxious, we may recommend undergoing treatment under sedation. Sedation is not the same as general anaesthetic, and you will remain conscious throughout the procedure. However, it does eliminate pain, and it will make you feel drowsy, and most importantly, completely relaxed. If you want to, you’ll be able to talk to your dentist during treatment.

Could sedation be beneficial for me?

If you are very nervous about having dental treatment, or you require more complex treatment, such as root canal therapy, sedation may be beneficial. Many people feel less apprehensive about the procedure if they know that they won’t feel any pain, and this can help to prevent anxiety before and during treatment. Sedation can also be beneficial for dentists, as they are able to work for longer, and this means that procedures that take longer than an average appointment can be completed in a single session.

If you think you may benefit from sedation, or you’re keen to see a dentist with experience in caring for anxious patients, call us today and we can arrange an informal consultation.
