We often find that accidents happen when you least expect it and that is why we offer flexible appointment times and same-day appointments. Sadly, dental injuries are fairly common, but we will do all we can to make you comfortable as quickly as possible.
If you need urgent dental treatment, call us and we will do our best to see you as soon as possible.
There are many different types of dental injury, from facial wounds and jaw fractures, to broken teeth, severe dental pain and dislodged teeth. If you have facial wounds or a suspected jaw fracture it is best to visit your nearest Accident and Emergency unit, as you will probably need an X-ray.
If you have had a tooth knocked out and you can see a dentist quickly, it may be possible to save the tooth. While you are on your way to the clinic, put the tooth in a glass of milk or hold it in the mouth between your gums and the inside of your cheeks. If you touch the tooth, make sure you hold the crown and avoid touching the roots. If you see a dentist quickly, they may be able to re-implant the tooth.
There are various causes of severe dental pain, from a broken tooth to a dental abscess and we will identify the cause and ease your pain as quickly as possible.
Preventing dental injuries
Sometimes, accidents are impossible to prevent, but visiting a dentist regularly, wearing a protective mouth guard when you play sport and wearing a seatbelt, can help to lower your risk of dental injuries.
