Designed with little smiles in mind

The Invisalign First system is available exclusively for children as a popular alternative to fixed braces and other appliances.

Invisalign First works with baby teeth and is primarily used to treat children aged 6 to 10.

In key developmental years, the smile grows as your child does. But if you are noticing any crooked, gappy or misaligned teeth, it might be a good time to start orthodontic treatment known as Phase 1 treatment now.

At this stage, our Invisalign certified dentists may see issues and potential threats that might need to be addressed before they develop any further and cost you more in dental care in the future.

Phase 1 treatment and results

The main goal of Phase 1 is to develop young jaws and arches to provide substantial room for any existing or incoming permanent teeth.

Invisalign First targets various straightening issues in growing children from simple to complex, including narrow dental arches.

Designed with a child’s comfort in mind, the removable retainers encourage healthy oral habits without the need to introduce brackets or metal wires.

What’s included in the Invisalign First treatment?

  • Invisalign clear aligners are custom-made with state-of-the-art features that provide the optimal level of comfort for patients.
  • iTero Digital Imaging allows for better precision planning as it takes thousands of 3D images of 60 seconds. 3D imaging allows for more accurate movements and precise pressure calculations to move teeth gradually, comfortably and effectively.
  • ClinCheck Software uses smart algorithms to ascertain which tooth needs what pressure of movement at which time – this will allow you as the parent to see how your child’s smile will look at each stage of the treatment.
  • SmartTrack material is more comfortable than other clear aligner materials and is proven to improve the predictability of tooth movement.
  • SmartForce attachments are tiny, tooth-coloured shapes that attach to a patient’s teeth to ensure the aligners apply the right amount of force in the right directions.
  • Vivera Retainers keep your smile looking great after the procedure – they are discreet and invisible (like your Invisalign aligners except worn at night following treatment).

Making Invisalign fun and getting kids excited

The Invisalign treatment will only work once the aligners are worn. Therefore, it might not be the best option for all children, who might struggle to wear their aligners as directed.

Several other patients are beginning to use Invisalign stickables that aim to get kids excited about their Invisalign First treatment. Stickers of stars, for example, can be applied to the aligners to customise the removable retainers and make them more interesting to the children wearing them.
